What do we argue about when we argue about evolution?

God made us; nature made us; maybe both work together.  Why do people get so lathered up about the idea of natural selection?  Are creationists looking for an autocratic father-figure to have total “faith” in?  Is there a fear underlying the polemic, that creationist genes won’t be naturally selected for future generations?  And on the Dawkins/Hitchens side of the equation, why does God have to be deleted from the genepool of forces at work in creation?   And….do any of our arguments on the subject really change anything?,%20Virginia
